HB0001 and SF0001

Joint Conference Committee Members are: Senate - Senators Burns, Dockstader, Driskill, Hastert, and Landen. House - Representatives Nicholas, Sommers, Larsen, Schwartz, and Walters.

Contact the members of this committee before adjournment of the houses on Tuesday, February 21st and tell them to not adopt the following amendments.
Senate second reading amendment number 22 and third reading amendment number 15. Combined, these two amendments call for a reduction of 2% in the 100 series of each agencies budget. The 100 series is where funding for salaries comes from and while larger agencies can make the cut with vacated positions, many smaller agencies will possibly have to cut their employees' salaries to reach the cut the legislature is asking for.
House third reading amendment number 36. This amendment takes away the $5.75 for each year of service for insurance for retirees over the age of 65. This money is provided so retirees can continue coverage under the state health insurance plan as supplemental coverage to Medicare.
Please contact the members listed above and help WPEA get these amendments taken out of the supplemental budget. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please don't hesitate to call the office at (307) 635-7901.
